Burlington, MA, May 2, 2007 -- Aushon BioSystems, developer of advanced products for microarray-based analysis, announced today the appointments of Ken Titlebaum as Chief Financial Officer and Mike Tognotti as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing. In their new positions, Mr. Titlebaum will have responsibility for all financial operations, controllership functions and administrative matters for Aushon and Mr. Tognotti will oversee worldwide sales and marketing functions.
Mr. Titlebaum has deep financial and leadership experience. With more than 26 years experience and a diverse financial background, Mr. Titlebaum joined Aushon from E Ink Corporation, a privately-held developer of paper-like electronic displays, where he held senior responsibility for finance and other administrative functions in the 7-plus years he was employed there. Prior to E Ink, Ken served as Chief Financial Officer of Etex Corporation, a privately held developer of medical devices for the orthopedics industry, where he was responsible for all finance, legal and human resources matters. From 1987 to 1995, he was employed by The Kendall Company, a publicly traded manufacturer of disposable medical supplies, until its sale in 1994. He served principally as its Vice President and Controller, during which time Kendall underwent a leveraged buyout and a dramatic and successful operational turnaround. He began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co. where he worked for 8 years, most recently as a Manager in their Commercial Audit Division. Titlebaum received his BSBA from Boston University with highest honors and earned his CPA in 1982.
Mr. Tognotti has played key roles in the commercial success of leading U.S. based life science companies. He brings executive sales, marketing and management experience combined with a proven track record of success. Mr. Tognotti joined Aushon BioSystems from CombiMatrix Corporation, a publicly-traded manufacturer of semiconductor-based biochips used for genetic analysis in the R&D and Diagnostic markets. Prior to joining CombiMatrix, Mr. Tognotti was Western Regional Sales Manager for Illumina, a genomic tools developer for the large-scale analysis of genetic variation and function. Prior to Illumina, Mr. Tognotti served in several senior sales and marketing positions at Fisher Scientific and Operon Technologies. Mr. Tognotti received his Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Arizona.
